AUGUSTA – Rep. Vicki Doudera, D-Camden, has been appointed to serve as House chair of the Legislature’s Environment and Natural Resources Committee (ENR).
“I am proud of the work we do on the Environment and Natural Resources Committee to support climate resiliency, protect against pollution and help our communities to be more sustainable,” said Doudera. “For the sake of all Mainers and the future of our state, it is critical that we are good environmental stewards. We have big issues facing us this year, but I am ready to work with my colleagues to find solutions and it is an honor to serve in the chair role.”
Doudera has been a member of the committee for four years, and has also served on the Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee and the Marine Resources Committee. She was appointed chair this term by House Speaker Ryan Fecteau. ENR oversees the Department of Environmental Protection, as well as policy related to air and water quality, natural resource protection, energy development, zoning, waste management, returnable containers and more.
Doudera is serving her fourth term in the Maine House representing the towns of Camden and Rockport. She serves on the Maine Climate Council’s Science and Technical Subcommittee and is also the founder and co-chair of the Legislature’s Gun Safety Caucus.
