Doore releases statement on biennial budget

AUGUSTA - Rep. Donna Doore, D-Augusta, issued the following statement following the Maine House's vote to advance the "Back-to-Basics" Budget:

"As a former state employee and, now, the elected representative to a district with many state employees, I am relieved that we have passed the Back-to-Basics Budget. By passing this measure to provide baseline funding for state services, were giving state employees and their families the security of knowing that their jobs are secure. After the year of uncertainty we have all lived through, I'm glad we were able to ensure the continuity of essential state services. Of course, this baseline budget is just the first step. My colleagues and I in the Maine State Legislature will continue holding public hearings, work sessions and votes on new initiatives in the weeks and months to come."

Doore represents part of Augusta in House District 85. She is serving her fourth term in the Maine House. She sits on the Legislatures Labor and Housing Committee.
