Crafts issues statement on committee approval of Highway Fund supplemental budget

AUGUSTA - On Friday, the Legislature's Transportation Committee voted unanimously to give approval to LD 2229, a supplemental spending package to the Highway Fund Budget.

Following the vote, Rep. Lydia Crafts, D-Newcastle, House chair of the Transportation Committee, issued the following statement:br />

"This supplemental spending package builds on the Transportation Committee's historic work last year to improve Maine's roads, bridges and other infrastructure. These investments will help us repair and maintain our state roads, deal with the current backlog of projects and unlock nearly $1 billion in federal funding that will have a transformational impact on our state. I'm so proud of all the hard work this committee has put in this session, which will improve the safety and quality of life of all Mainers."
