AUGUSTA - Rep. Jim Boyle, D-Gorham, was sworn into office on Tuesday by Gov. Janet Mills after winning a special election on January 11, 2022. Boyle now serves House District 27, the seat previously held by Rep. Kyle Bailey, who resigned in October.
"It's great to be back in the State House," said Boyle. "I am thankful to the people of Gorham and Scarborough for going to the polls in freezing temperatures last Tuesday and giving me the honor of representing them in the Maine House of Representatives. I look forward to getting to work."
Boyle will begin his duties in the Maine House immediately. He has been assigned to serve on the Legislatures Environment and Natural Resources Committee.
"We are lucky to now have Rep. Boyle in the House Democratic Caucus," said House Majority Leader Michelle Dunphy, D-Old Town. "I look forward to working closely with Rep. Boyle on environmental matters and all the other issues that are important to his constituents and the people of Maine."
Boyle formerly served in the Maine Senate from 2012-2014 and on the Efficiency Maine Trust Board. Boyle owns and operates an environmental consulting firm based in Gorham.
