Berry statement on CMP withdrawing solar upgrade claims

AUGUSTA - Rep. Seth Berry, D-Bowdoinham, House chair of the Legislature's Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee, issued the following statement in response to Central Maine Powers withdrawal of claims regarding solar projects and capacity upgrades:

"Did CMP find a solution to the problem they created? Or were they caught making up numbers and told to stop?

In either case, this episode is one more reminder that CMP can not be trusted to hold the enormous privilege of a monopoly franchise as the single owner and arbiter of our all-clean-energy, all-electric future."

Berry represents House District 55: Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Swan Island and most of Richmond. He previously served from 2006-2014, the final two years as House majority leader, and returned to the House in 2016.
