AUGUSTA- Rep. Seth Berry, D-Bowdoinham, House chair of the Legislature's Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee, issued the following statement in support of the Maine House advancing the "Back-to-Basics" Budget:
"The Back-to-Basics Budget provides stability and predictability at a time when the Maine people need it most. We have prevented partisan gridlock and ensured that state employees do not need to fear for their jobs as the clock ticks down on the fiscal year. Its also welcome news for the many families, businesses and municipalities who need certainty about property tax exemptions and school funding. The Back-to-Basics Budget brings the peace of mind that we all need as we climb out of the pandemic together."
Berry represents House District 55: Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Swan Island and most of Richmond. He previously served from 2006-2014, the final two years as House majority leader, and returned to the House in 2016.
