AUGUSTA - Rep. Mana Abdi, D-Lewiston, will serve as a member of the Legislature's Joint Standing Committee on State and Local Government.
"I am honored to be appointed by House Speaker Rachel Talbot Ross to serve on the State and Local Government Committee," said Abdi. The health and wellbeing of our local governments is a key component to a strong democracy here in Maine. I look forward to working with my colleagues to support our municipalities and the public services they provide.
The committee oversees concerns related to municipal, county and regional government as well as the Legislature, state contracts and state employees.
Abdi is serving her first term and represents House District 95, which includes a portion of Lewiston.
