Rep. Kristen Cloutier is serving her fourth term in the Maine House of Representatives.

During her tenure, Cloutier has introduced and passed legislation to create Maine’s paid family and medical leave benefits program, create a grant program for family caregivers, decrease barriers and streamline business licensing so qualified new residents can enter Maine's workforce, direct aid to Mainers experiencing homelessness and restore funding to the state’s Tobacco Prevention and Control Program. 

A lifelong resident of Lewiston, Cloutier is actively involved in the Lewiston-Auburn community, currently serving as a member of the Community Concepts Board of Directors and the Lewiston-Auburn Railroad Board of Directors. 

Previously, she was the Assistant House Majority Leader and helped lead the House Democratic Caucus in the 131st Legislature. She has also served on the Taxation Committee and the Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee.   

Prior to her time in the Legislature, she was the mayor and city council president of Lewiston.
