Rep. Dan Ankeles is serving his second term in the Maine House representing part of Brunswick. He is a member of the Transportation Committee and the Environment and Natural Resources Committee.
Prior to becoming a lawmaker, Ankeles worked as a legislative aide, a public radio producer and a campaign organizer. He formerly served as an at-large member of the Brunswick Town Council for five years.
Top local priorities for Ankeles include removing the remaining toxic firefighting foam from the former Brunswick Naval Air Station, reimbursing residents for testing, filtration and loss of shellfish value, and restoring Brunswick’s voice on the former base.
Other priorities include supporting Maine’s working waterfront, traffic calming and reforming a regressive property tax system that has cost people their homes.
Ankeles and his wife Cat have lived in Brunswick since 2011 and are raising their two children in Brunswick schools.
