. Below you will see a list of opportunities for your consideration: 

  • Have barriers to employment or training? You may be eligible for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act – WIOA: The programs have both priority populations for services and eligibility, including: Veterans, low-income adults, recipients of public assistance, basic Skills Deficient individuals, including English Language Learners, dislocated workers, individuals with barriers to employment, young adults (16-24). If you are interested in learning more about workforce programs you can contact WIOA Service Providers by region:
  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent (HiSET) and looking to attain your 1st postsecondary credential? Check out the Child Care Affordability Program (CCAP). CCAP helps eligible families to pay for childcare so parents can work, go to school, or participate in a job training program. Learn more about eligibility criteria.

    Are you a recent graduate looking for loan reimbursement support?

    • Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA)Eligible nursing students can apply to the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program. You are eligible if you are a U.S. citizen (born or naturalized), a national, or a lawful permanent resident; are an accepted or enrolled student in a nursing degree program at a United States accredited school of nursing; begin classes no later than September 30; don’t have any federal judgment liens, don’t have an existing service commitment and aren’t overdue on a federal debt.

Finance Authority of Maine (FAME): The Maine Health Care Provider Loan Repayment Pilot Program provides one-time funds to support rebuilding Maine’s health care industry workforce. The program attracts and retains health care professionals in Maine by repaying outstanding student loans of selected participants who commit to living and working in Maine for at least three years.
Program recipients may receive awards totaling up to $25,000 per year or, in aggregate, the lesser of $75,000 or 50% of the recipient’s outstanding loan balance.
