Events |
A fantastically popular event at many colleges and universities, Dump and Run is an event in which students can dump off their unwanted stuff/treasures to a gymnasium or arena and then it is sold at cheap prices to other students who are looking for furniture etc. All the money goes to charities. Dump and Run helps everybody out, including the local landfill. This is a really fun and worthwhile project. You’ll find all the information you need at: www.dumpandrun.org
Recycle Mania is a recycling competition between colleges and universities across the US. Several Maine schools are participating, but we can always do more. Their website has lots of tips from the winning universities on the best ways to get things going, including media ideas and more. Check it out at: http://www.recyclemaniacs.org/overview.htm
- An ambitious group could also try to start a Recycle Mainea where just the Maine colleges and universities could compete!
