Maine Employment and Unemployment data

There are 2 basic measures of employment; Resident Employment, developed from a survey of households, and Non-farm Wage & Salary Employment (also called Payroll Employment), which is developed from a survey of employers.  The Wage & Salary Employment data includes only those people on payrolls and excludes the self-employed and agricultural workers.  Also, it is really a count of jobs, as one person may be on two or more payrolls and be counted each time.

All data shown below is from the Maine Department of Labor; Labor Information Services.
