New Standards for Code Enforcement

InspectionsThe State Planning Office has adopted new standards for code enforcement officers and third-party inspectors to become certified in Maine’s Uniform Building and Energy Code. The standards require training and testing to help CEOs and TPIs become knowledgeable in how to administer and apply the new statewide building code.

Bowdoinham Easement: Mainers have farmed this land for more than 70 years

Thanks to the Land for Maine’s Future program and its partners, a beautiful spot with globally important soil and access to both fresh water for irrigation and the best produce market in the state, the 83-acre Kelley Farm in Bowdoinham will remain for future generations of farmers.

The regional challenge grant program provides non-competitive grants to support promising regional land use initiatives in coastal communities. This year’s grant round will focus on regional open space planning, scenic inventory, regional harbor or bay management, regional climate change planning, and regional asset development.
