Distance Learning Installation/Events Schedule for Interested Sites
A high school, library, or technical center/region makes decision to pursue distance learning site contacts Steve.Vose@state.maine.us (207-624-6779).
Site contacts Jeffrey Fink at Jeffrey.E.Fink@Verizon.com (207-878-4237) or Barry Crommett at Barry.H.Crommett@Verizon.com (207-878-4292) of Verizon to obtain a contract.
Site submits E-rate form 471 (SEE: 471 E-rate letter & 471 filing template) to receive a discount on ATM line charges. If you need the 471 form, use the following link: http://www.state.me.us/msl/erate.htm
Site personnel (Technical Coordinator, Teachers and Administration) examine the site readiness guide and use the specifications and requirements to identify a suitable room that will effectively function as a distance learning classroom.
Sites may additionally wish to view the ATM Access Inventory Checklist if they have additional questions or concerns in the area of assistive technology.

Clover representative Rich Wright (Voice = 1-800-260-0220, E-mail = rwright@clover.com) accompanied by DOE/UNET personnel conduct an intensive on-site review of the proposed distance learning classroom to determine effectiveness.
Site completes distance learning room recommendations, provided by Clover and based on feedback from the on-site review.
Clover representative Rich Wright (Voice = 1-800-260-0220, E-mail = rwright@clover.com) meets with site personnel (Technical Coordinator, Teachers and Administration) and the three hardware packages including wiring closet considerations and cable runs from Verizon demark to ATM classroom.
Clover representative Rich Wright (Voice = 1-800-260-0220, E-mail = rwright@clover.com) oversee installation of selected distance learning classroom package.
Local district pays P.O. for any additional options included at their site.
Monthly finance charges and Local School/Library Guide to Responsibilities and Costs
Bell Atlantic begins billing for ATM line less E-rate.
MSLN (State E-rate) starts paying site $358 per month (Contact Phil Lindley - PUC - 287-1598 - Phil.Lindley@state.me.us) to receive your reimbursement.
Quality Assurance Testing completed by vendor system prepared for validation
30 Day (No significant fault) acceptance period begins
"On site" Technical training begins for two site technical staff. Offered by Jim Custer (Contact info. above). Scheduling organized by Clover representative. . . .
Four Day Instructor Training (Day ONE of the training program will be held "on-site" while days TWO and THREE will be offered on the system with a follow-up day FOUR offered on the system at a later date, 4 day total) offered by Department of Education for a maximum of 8 instructional staff. Contact Steve Vose (Contact info. above) for scheduling and training information.
