Facilities Master Planning Services for Proposed RSUs
This service is available to Reorganization Planning Committees forming Regional School Units. Make your request for a Facilities Master Plan, in writing, to: Commissioner of Education, 23 State House Station, Augusta , ME 04333 . Please be sure your letter includes detailed rational to support your request.
Goal: Long range facilities planning for proposed Regional School Units.
Objectives:
Facilities Master Planning will include the following:
- Allocation of space to Maine standards for learning environments;
- Condition of space and appropriateness of space;
- Student demographic data;
- Cost of annual maintenance and operations;
- Cost of deferred work;
- Cost of future capital renewals;
- Current and possible future debt service;
- Potential savings that may be achieved as a result of reorganization; and
- Opportunities for "cost avoidance."
Deliverables:
- Report for Reorganization Planning Committees or Regional School Unit and Maine Department of Education. The report will include data and considerations and recommendations.
- Meeting with affected parties to explain data, considerations, and recommendations.
Analysis and report will be completed by M.E. McCormick Consultants.
