Program Description– written by CHAMPS – Tutorial Program

Students, students, students – Join the Champs Tutorial Program. We are looking for students who need a big boost with reading and math skills. Work at the Caribou Learning Center two days a week from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm for an hour each day in a safe and encouraging environment. By the end of the ranking quarter, you will notice that your reading and writing have become more focused and that your grades have gone up. Tutoring in reading is provided through work on vocabulary development, understanding what you are reading, and work on finding specific information in your reading assignments. Math tutoring involves work on computation and problem solving. Your tutor will help you work through math problems and will show you different ways that you can solve a multitude of problems. The tutor will help you to add, subtract, multiply and divide and apply these skills to your classroom work and to your homework. You will become comfortable in your ability to do god work and it will show on your report card. Parents and your teachers will be proud of your accomplishments.
