Program Description – written by Aucocisco School

Aucocisco School will provide high quality instruction in reading and/or mathematics for students in grade K-12. Utilizing both small-group instruction and the most up-to-date computer-based instruction, Aucocisco provides students with scientifically based instruction in a comfortable, positive setting.
Aucocisco School provides individualized tutoring services in the basic skill areas of reading and mathematics. Students are first tested to determine their current levels in the building blocks of reading including phonemic awareness, phonics, reading speed and fluency, and reading comprehension and math concepts and computation. These test results are used to determine the best program to match their needs, and to set instructional goals.

Instruction takes place in small groups with a teacher/student ratio of no more than one teacher to five students, a ratio which has been shown to demonstrate the greatest gains in student achievement. Computer-based instruction is also utilized to help students solidify their learning.
Goals are determined by reviewing the test results and consulting with parents and schools to insure that the programs will match the sending school's curriculum. A review of the student's progress is reported to the parents and the school after every twelve hours of programming. At this time, programs will be adjusted to improve effectiveness if goals are not being reached.

Classes can be arranged after school on a twice-weekly basis, or on an intensive four-day-a-week basis during the summer. All classes are held in our cape Elizabeth facility, a bright, open and welcoming environment for students.

All students are taught by highly trained instructors, who are supervised by a certified teacher. All staff have been specially trained in the programs they teach. Regular review of staff and program effectiveness are conducted.

Aucosico School has been in business for eleven years, helping students who learn differently to achieve their goals. Student success is supported by parent and school reports. All students are tested at the beginning and the end of their programs to demonstrate the gains they make. Let Aucosico School help your child achieve in reading and math.
