Youth Voice and Leadership

Dedicated to the power and importance of meaningful youth voice, the Youth Voice and Leadership subcommittee is committed to identifying the needs of young people and making sure they are heard in the context of the Task Force's work and in the larger context of citizenship education and civic participation.  This subcommittee has also worked with the Secretary of State's office to encourage young people, age 17 and up, to vote in the June 2006 primaries. The 2006 primaries was be the first time eligible 17-year-olds were able to vote and the Youth Voice and Leadership Subcommittee has created an educational brochure for them and anyone else who has questions about registering to vote or primaries!

The Youth Voice and Leadership Subcommittee is excited to present you with the For Youth section of this website and to provide you with information and resources that show citizenship education as fun, informative, and necessary.
