RE: Reporting Disciplinary Suspensions and Expulsions for the State Performance Plan (SPP) Data: Assistance for Reporting Children with Disabilities Ages 3-21 Subject to Disciplinary Removal (2006-07 School Year)
The Maine Department of Education (MDOE) Office of Special Services is now required to collect information on all students with and without Individual Education Programs (IEPs), who have been suspended or expelled for one-half day or more including in-school suspensions, in order to complete the Annual Performance Report (Table 5) for the US Department of Education Office of Special Programs (OSEP). The bolded type in Table 5 indicates that these are new federal requirements for 2006-07. Table 5 is located at: https://www.ideadata.org/docs/DisciplinePtB.doc
School Administrative Units are required to submit this data for 2006-07 using the MEDMS Safe and Drug Free School Module. The Office of Special Services (OSS) has summarized OSEP’s data requirements in “Summary of Table 5.” The bolded type from Table 5 has been retained in the Summary and indicates new federal requirements for 2006-07.
