INFORMATIONAL LETTER: 101 POLICY CODE: GCI
TO: Superintendents of Schools, School Principals, and all Teachers FROM: Susan A. Gendron, Commissioner of Education DATE: April 30, 2007 RE: University of Maine Graduate Literacy Cohorts The Literacy faculty at the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development is hoping to establish two cohorts to provide on-site graduate programs in Literacy for Maine educators. One cohort would be the Central Maine Cohort, encompassing Augusta, Waterville, Gardiner, MSAD #3, and the surrounding areas. The other cohort would be the Western Maine Cohort, serving South Paris and the surrounding areas. Educators interested in either cohort should contact: Dr. Jan Kristo It is important to note that in order for the Literacy Faculty to provide these programs in both central and western Maine, there must be a minimum number of interested educators signed up for each cohort. I encourage each of you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
