Subject: Department of Homeland Security Soft Target Awareness Workshop for Schools

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, in cooperation with the City of South Portland, is offering a 4-hour workshop titled “Soft Target Awareness Training for Schools”. The workshop will be held on August 23, 2006 from 1 PM to 5 PM at the South Portland City Council Chambers, 25 Cottage Street, South Portland, Maine. Registration capacity for this workshop is 65 people and registrations will be taken on a “first come, first served” basis. The workshop is geared for public and private school systems and institutions of higher learning. Attendees would include Superintendents, Facility Managers, Administrative Staff, School Resource Officers, and others involved with school crisis response planning.
