RE: Rule for Vision and Hearing Screening in Schools
The Maine Secretary of State has adopted the Department of Education Rule for Vision and Hearing Screening in Maine Schools. The Rule, Chapter 45, will be posted on the Maine State Government’s web site by the Office of the Secretary of State at a later date. That web site is http://www.maine.gov/sos/cec/rules/05/chaps05.htm.
The Rule specifies school screening requirements for vision and hearing. It includes screening for distance vision, near vision and binocular vision. The effective date for Chapter 45 is April 1, 2006.
