Subject:            Proposed Rule Amendments, Chapter 61 – Rules for Major Capital School Construction Projects

The State Board of Education is proposing amendments to Chapter 61, Rules for Major Capital School Construction Projects.  Chapter 61 includes the requirements and process for approval of State-funded major capital school construction projects.

There are a number of amendments in the proposed rule that attempt to clarify the rule and better define the roles of the school unit, the Department of Education, and the State Board of Education.  I encourage you to review the proposed amendments to the rule in order to ensure understanding of the process following adoption of the rule.
