Important Changes

EF-M-40 Fall School Statistical Report

The enrollment data collection portion of this form has been removed.   This data is now being collected solely through the Maine Education Data Management System (MEDMS) Student Reporting Module.

The EF-M-40 for the 2005-06 school year has been redesigned to collect only high school graduate and post secondary plans data.    Therefore, only school administrative units that have schools that graduate secondary students need to complete this form.

EF-M-35a Report of Public/Selected Private School System Part II - Dropouts

This report collects dropout data for grades 7-12.   Although the content of this report has not changed from last year, it only needs to be completed by all school administrative units that operate school(s) that have any combination of grades that include any grade 7 through 12.

Revisions to the above reports are due to the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) that requires each state to identify (1) graduation data, (2) dropout data, and (3) aggregate daily attendance and membership by ethnicity and gender, as well as in the following four sub-groups:

In order to meet these federal requirements, the Department of Education has modified the 2005-06 Fall School Statistical Report (EF-M-40) and the 2004-05 Report of Public/Selected Private School System – Part II Dropouts (EF-M-35a) to include the four sub-groups and they have become web-based reports.

If you have questions regarding the four sub-groups, please contact Jackie Soychak at (207) 624-6734 or email jacqueline.soychak@maine.gov .

If you have questions regarding the student data reports, please contact Patrick Dow at (207) 624-6797 or email patrick.dow@maine.gov .
