SUBJECT:        EPA Bulletin: Praise for Mainers Curbing School Bus Pollution

The attached bulletin from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection provides information regarding the recent recognition that Maine received from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency for our efforts to reduce diesel emissions from school buses across the State.   The bulletin also contains useful information about the Clean School Bus initiative, the Maine School Bus Emissions Retrofit program and related workshops provided to transportation supervisors, mechanics and drivers at the 2004 School Bus Safety Conference co-sponsored by the Maine Association for Pupil Transportation, the Maine Department of Education and the Maine State Police.
