RE: Energy Savings Tips Contest for All Maine 4th, 5th, and 6th Graders
On behalf of Governor John E. Baldacci, I invite each of your 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students to participate in this year’s Energy Savings Tips Contest. October is Energy Awareness Month and as winter approaches with colder temperatures and less daylight, it is a good time for Mainers to think about ways in which we can save energy at home and at school.
Students are encouraged to submit 1 or 2 tips for saving energy in their homes and schools. Efficiency Maine, a program of the Maine Public Utilities Commission, will award personal Compact Disc (CD) players to the top suggestion from each grade level. All tips must be submitted by November 14, 2003 and all contest winners will be announced on December 1, 2003.
Students may e-mail their energy saving ideas to efficiencymaine@maine.gov with the words Energy Contest in the subject line, or mail them to Denis Bergeron, the Director of Energy Programs at the Maine Public Utilities Commission, #18 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333-0018. Please do not forget to include your name, address, grade level, and school with your submission.
Good luck to all participating students!
