LETTER # 131
POLICY
CODE: DB
TO: All Superintendents of Schools
FROM: Susan
A. Gendron, Commissioner
DATE:
SUBJECT: FY 2003 - 2004 Final Subsidy
Printout (ED 261)
Enclosed is the final 2003-2004-subsidy printout for
your school administrative unit(s); this is being mailed to you so that your
financial staff may use it as reference to complete required year-end
reports. Your audit firm will also need
the printout as they begin the annual audit of your school administrative unit.
The
“Adjusted State Allocation” on line 60 should equal the amount reported as
revenue on page 2R, Column 1, line 40 plus line 41 of the “Financial Report of
Public Schools” (EF-M-45) for 2003-2004.
For those units that qualified for the Out-of
District Placement adjustment, the amount is indicated on line 59D. This amount will be included in the June 2004
subsidy check. This amount should be treated as subsidy and be reported on the
“Financial Report of Public Schools” (EF-M-45) on page 2R, Column 1, Line 40. Do not net these funds against your unit’s
out-of-district placement costs on either the “Financial Report of Public
Schools” (EF-M-45) or the “Request for Subsidy Allocation of Tuition &
Board for Students with Disabilities (EF-S-07).
For those units that qualified for the ESL/Bilingual
adjustment for the amount indicated on line 53, please note that one half of
this amount was included in the May 2004 subsidy check and the other half of
this amount will be included in the June 2004 subsidy check. Again, this amount
should be treated as subsidy and be reported on the “Financial Report of Public
Schools” (EF-M-45) on page 2R, Column 1, Line 40.
