RE: Comprehensive School Health Education Grant Application
The Maine Department of Education is pleased to announce the availability of grants to enhance comprehensive health education curriculum, instruction and assessment, linked to the Maine Learning Results. The grants provide funding for three consecutive years at $2,000 per year. These grants are made available to schools through funding from the Maine Bureau of Health, Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant; the Maine Department of Education; and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Adolescent and School Health (CFDA#93.938, Improving the Health, Education, and Well-Being of Young People Through Coordinated School Health Programs, March 1, 2003 – February 29, 2004).
This project provides schools with valuable resources and technical assistance to improve their health education programs. Quality health education enhances both student well-being and learning.
The grant application is enclosed. Please note that it must be postmarked no later than
April 18, 2003.
