RE: Training for Capital Asset Management Software
DATE: January 7, 2001
The Department of Education is pleased to announce that training will begin on the Capital Asset Management software component of the Facilities Management Template in January 2002. In order to access the Capital Asset Management software, SAU personnel must successfully complete a two-day training course.
Initially, four two-day sessions are planned during January and February in four regions of the state. These sessions will be conducted by Vanderweil Facility Advisors (VFA) as part of their contract with the state to provide the Capital Asset Management software via the Internet. Additional training sessions will be offered to meet the training needs of all school districts in the state over the next year. Training is currently planned for:
January 22-23 at Wells
January 24-25 at Augusta
February 4-5 at Presque Isle
February 6-7 at Waterville
In order to allow as many school districts as possible to access to the training, only one person per district will be trained at this time. Classes are limited to 12 people per two-day session.
Training will cover use of the VFA.facility software via the World Wide Web. All participants should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operation and a working knowledge of use of the World Wide Web.
School districts wishing to reserve a place at a training session for one of their district personnel should email Jay Readinger at the Department at email@example.com by January 16, 2002. Classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Please indicate the following information in your request: name of school district, name of person to attend training, phone and email contact information for trainee, and two sessions in order of preference (1st. and 2nd. choices).
Reservations for training will only be accepted via email in order to record the order of their receipt. If you have questions regarding these training sessions, please contact Jay Readinger by phone at (207) 624-6886 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
