"Before the Crash..." by Kathy Strotmeyer

This presentation was given at the 2006 National Conference on Transporting Children with Special Needs. The presentation deals specifically with planning activities with transportation personnel to help them prepare for appropriate response actions in the event they are involved in a highway crash with their bus. Kathy Strotmeyer is the Southwestern Pennsylvania Coordinator for the Traffic Injury Prevention Project of the PA Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She also functions as the statewide special needs and school bus resource, and she was a primary contributor to the NHTSA Child Safety Restraint Systems on School Bus training module. She is also a certified EMT.
