How do schools need to change, and how can the Department of Education help educators make that happen?
That's what Education Commissioner Stephen Bowen is looking to find out on a listening tour that will take him to Maine's nine superintendent regions in his first 100 days on the job.
In each region, he's meeting with superintendents, visiting schools and hosting a public forum. He'll use much of the feedback he hears on the road to assemble a strategic plan for education in Maine.
