"The Handspring Foundation focuses on supporting non-profit organizations or international equivalents that help at-risk children and youth. The Foundation makes cash grants from $1,000 to $25,000 for projects that focus on preK-12 education or other issues directly related to at-risk children and youth. Applications accepted May 1, August 1, and November 1, 2002."
The NEA Foundation
"The NEA Foundation has published new grant guidelines to underwrite effective professional development or innovative ideas that result in improved student achievement. The foundation makes $1,000-$3,000 grants to practicing U.S. public school teachers in grades K-12, public school education support professionals, and higher education faculty and staff at U.S. public colleges and universities. All applicants must read and follow the grant guidelines, available on the NFIE website. Eligible applicants may submit a proposal at any time. Notification will be made within seven months of receipt of the application."
