Maine State Police
Cleanup efforts continue following an early morning fuel truck rollover on I-295 northbound at mile marker 26 in Brunswick. It was initially reported that the truck was carrying kerosene, however it was actually transporting 2,900 gallons of off-road diesel. Approximately 2,400 gallons leaked as a result of the crash.
While the vehicle has been cleared, Clean Harbors is on scene along with Maine DEP managing fuel cleanup efforts. The travel lane will be closed for much of the day until the cleanup is complete. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Motorists should expect delays and consider alternate routes.
