Your actual benefit amount, once approved, will be calculated using a specific earnings figure from a defined 12-month period before your leave.

Because of that, if your income has changed over the last couple of years, this tool may be less helpful to you.

Keep in mind that:

• Only wages earned in Maine count toward Paid Family & Medical Leave benefits.
• Taxes may be withheld from your benefit payments.
• This tool is here to help you plan, but your official benefit amount will be confirmed during the application process.
