We encourage anyone who has lost their job through no fault of their own to apply for unemployment insurance. You can call 1-800-593-7660 between 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday (phone wait times are the highest on Mondays and Tuesdays).

In-person unemployment insurance assistance is also currently available at all local CareerCenters on Thursdays from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., except for in Machias. More information on CareerCenters can be found here: www.myworksourcemaine.gov/
What do I need to have available?
- Social Security Number (and Alien Registration Number if applicable);
- The business name, address and telephone number of each place you worked during the past 18 months;
- The jobs you held and the dates you worked (for each employer); and if applicable,
- Dependent Information: Social Security number (s) of children for whom you’re the main support.
- Standard Form 8 (SF-8) and Standard Form 50 (SF-50) if available.
- 2024 W-2 from your federal employer(s)
