Employer Webinar Series
In 2024, the Maine State Workforce Board will be hosting a webinar series that will build on the success of the 2023 Maine Employer Summit that was cohosted with the Maine Departments of Labor and Economic and Community Development.
The one-day event last May connected 500 (300+ in-person) participating employers, government agencies, workforce partners, and State of Maine resources to highlight workforce opportunities, discuss how to break down barriers to attracting and hiring specific communities, and share best practices, challenges, and innovations in creating a more inclusive, sustainable workforce.
Many employers stated their interest in a continuing opportunity moving forward to have regular webinars and learning opportunities. In response to this, the State Workforce Board’s Industry Leadership committee is planning a series of webinars on a number of topics identified by participants. There will be five webinars focused on strategies for attracting and accommodating workers from priority populations, such as older workers, New Mainers, people with disabilities, those in the re-entry community, and those in recovery.
