State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers
The State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers protects the safety and property of the public through the regulation of the practice of engineering in Maine. The Board is supported by license fees and receives no general fund tax dollars.
- All Maine PE licenses expire December 31, 2015. Online renewal is not currently available. If you missed the 2013 renewal and want to renew late, you must send the following to the board office: a new application along with three current PE references; payment of USD $105; a signed, completed PDH Activity Log and supporting documentation; and a list of recent engineering projects with an explanation of your responsibilities. Incomplete submissions may be returned.
- Deadline to apply for the April, 2015 PE exam was December 1, 2014. Those applicants who did not pass the PE exam in October who wish to retake the PE in April should send us an email by December 31.
- Congratulations to those who passed the October PE exam! You must now pay the licensure fee, which will license you through December 31, 2015. If you send $80, we will license you effective the day we receive the check, covering the balance of 2014 and all of 2015; if you send $40, we will license you effective Jan 1.
