PRACTICE TESTS FOR NECAP GRADES 3 THROUGH 8 MATHEMATICS AND READING
************************************************************************************************************************************************* NECAP Released ItemsAs you review NECAP released items, please remember that NECAP assesses the learning of one year (teaching year) at the beginning of the following year (testing year), so the assessment standards (GLEs) from grades 2-7 are assessed at the beginning of grades 3-8 in reading and mathematics, and 4th and 7th grade writing is assessed at the beginning of grades 5 and 8. This means that released items from the third grade test assessed the grade 2 Grade Level Expectations. If you are selecting items for practice or just want to orient yourself, remember to select released items from the test of the following year ( e.g., grade 3 teacher selects grade 4 test to see items that are measuring grade 3 standards...) 2012 - 2013 Released Items - NEW

Writing Released Items: Please note that there are no released writing items for 2009-10 because the test was for field testing purposes only. The following writing released items are based on an older NECAP test design that has been updated starting with the 2009 writing field test. This new writing test design will no longer include the planning box located just before the extended writing prompt. This planning box, which included three questions and was scored, will no longer appear in the NECAP writing test.
