Program Description- written by ALLTech

ALLTech provides instruction, technical assistance, assessment, and consultation in the use of assistive and learning technologies so that students can achieve the Maine Learning Results. These technologies enable students to read, write, compute, and communicate and to lead full and independent lives. To enrich all communities, ALLTech works collaboratively with individuals, families, educators, service providers, employers, agencies, and institutions to promote access and meaningful participation. ALLTech serves individuals with a wide range of disabilities including persons who have cognitive, communication, motor, and vision difficulties.

ALLTech's experienced staff members hold the Assistive Technology Practitioner credential of the Rehabilitation and Assistive Technology Society of North America. Staff members include experienced educators who are credentialed by the Maine Department of Education. Four instructional staff members hold master's degrees. One staff member has a doctorate in special education.

ALLTech's program and strategies are based on current research in education, as disseminated by the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, American Educational Research Association, and the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America. Data on the effectiveness of ALLTech's programs have been collected and reported to the Maine Department of Education for the past 15 years. On-going internal and external evaluation studies ensure program quality and effectiveness.
