RE:           PrepMe SAT Online Preparation Course Participation Instructions

On February 1, 2007, Governor Baldacci announced a generous donation from PrepMe of free online SAT Prep courses for all of Maine’s public 11th grade students. In order for students to take advantage of this opportunity, schools are asked to complete the three tasks detailed below.

Schools should do the following:

1) Designate a local school official to act as the PrepMe Contact Person. The PrepMe Contact Person will act as the liaison with PrepMe, and will facilitate the creation of student accounts. We recommend that a school guidance counselor or someone with a similar role be designated as the PrepMe Contact Person.

2) Provide basic student information to PrepMe in order to generate student accounts for all 11th grade students.

3) Provide a link on the school’s website to PrepMe’s login website to aid students with logging into their online SAT preparation course.

Schools that are able to provide contact and student account information to PrepMe by the early-bird deadline of February 16, 2007 will have their student login accounts generated and active on February 26, 2007. The final deadline for schools to submit their contact and student login information to PrepMe is February 28, 2007. All accounts will be generated and become active by  March 5, 2007.

PrepMe is not associated with the College Board which develops the SAT and participation in the PrepMe program is not required of schools or students. This option of SAT preparation should be viewed as an offer of support to increase equity of opportunity for all Maine students, and it is voluntary at the local level.
