INFORMATIONAL LETTER: 32
TO: Superintendents of Schools, Directors of Special Education, School Business Managers, Special Purpose Private Schools FROM: Susan A. Gendron, Commissioner DATE: October 5, 2006 SUBJECT: Information Sessions on MaineCare Billing for School-based Day Treatment and School-based Rehabilitation Services The Special Services Team has organized informational sessions in collaboration with DHHS staff members from the Office of MaineCare Services, the Division of Program Integrity, and the Division of Customer Service. The purpose of the sessions is to better inform school districts about the requirements for accessing MaineCare funding for School-based Day Treatment and School-based Rehabilitation Services. Topics such as certified seed money, Rider A, documentation requirements, budgets/cost reports, etc., will be covered. This will not be a session for individual districts to work out their unique issues with staff from the Office of MaineCare Services; instead, it will be a general overview with a question and answer session on the requirements and laws surrounding MaineCare billing. Information sessions will be held as follows: November 8, 2006 8:30 am - 11:30 am Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center In order to ensure that there is enough room for all interested participants, please RSVP to Brian.Labbe@maine.gov or call Brian at 624-6655 by November 3, 2006.
