RE: Graduation Rate – Follow-up to Informational Letter #136
As promised in Informational Letter # 136, I am making available a PowerPoint presentation that will help to explain both the process and the timeline for each part of the transition to the new graduation rate. This presentation should be used as a resource to accompany the teleconferences, which I will be hosting, next Monday and Tuesday, May 15 and 16, 2006. The presentation can be accessed at: http://www.maine.gov/education/edletrs/2006/ilet/06ilet141presentation.pdf
Due to the limited number of phone lines available for teleconferencing. I have decided to add a second date and time in order to accommodate as many of you as possible. The teleconferences will take place on Monday, May 15, 2006, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and then again on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. I ask that all superintendents and middle school and high school principals participate, if possible. Please choose only one teleconference session, so we can accommodate all who wish to participate.
For those of you who cannot participate on either Monday or Tuesday, please contact Jackie Soychak at 207-624-6734 or email@example.com to request that an additional teleconference be scheduled.
To access the teleconference on either Monday or Tuesday, please dial:
1-866-704-2476 or 1-719-785-9416
The passcode is: 129543
Your role in implementing the standard four-year, adjusted cohort graduation rate is critical. We thank you for your help with the important task of gathering this data in a way that will allow us to accurately report the graduation rate for Maine. I look forward to our calls on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
