INFORMATIONAL LETTER: 124
POLICY CODE: DD
TO: Superintendents, CDS Site Directors, CDS Board Chairs, CTE Regional Directors, Non-Public School Headmasters
FROM: Susan A. Gendron, Commissioner

RE: Update for Using Electronic Signatures for Electronic Funding Applications
The Department has converted to an electronic version of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Consolidated Application, the Special Education (IDEA) Local Entitlement Forms EF-S-08 and EF-S-09E, the Carl D. Perkins Grant Application, and the Annual Entitlement Application for Child Development Services (CDS) sites for IDEA Part C and Part B (Section 619).
In conjunction with this, the Department will discontinue the practice of requesting paper copies of signature pages signed by the Superintendent, CDS Site Director, CDS Board Chair, or CTE Regional Director who acknowledges and approves the substance of the Application. The Department is opting instead to use electronic signatures.
Two instructional links describing how to use electronic signatures have been added to the electronic application website: one for Superintendents, CDS Site Directors, CDS Board Chairs, or CTE Regional Directors, and a second for Non-Public School signatories. Both can be found at http://4pcamaine.org/
