Distinguished Educators: Member Profile
General information: In order to provide assistance to school administrative units, the Maine Department of Education will contract with school districts for two practitioners. Distinguished Educators are individuals on leave from a school administrative unit who will work for the Department of Education. Positions are available during the 2005-2006 school year. We are seeking individuals who have been successful in enabling children to make outstanding progress toward meeting high educational standards. This professional service work involves facilitation, data analysis, and staff development. Individuals must be able to work as part of a self-directed work team. Extensive use of technology, travel and field assignments are required. STATEWIDE TRAVEL IS REQUIRED.
The Distinguished Educators will have primary responsibility for providing technical assistance to schools and districts implementing the No Child Left Behind federal grant program that have been identified as identified as being in Continuous Improvement Priority Status under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. These positions will provide the following assistance to Priority Schools and Districts:
