SUBJECT: Maine School Security Conference November 8, 2004

I am pleased to announce the Maine School Security Conference, sponsored by the Maine Department of Education, the Maine Emergency Management Agency and the Maine School Management Association, to be held November 8, 2004 at the Augusta Civic Center.

 

This conference will present information to assist Maine schools prepare for emergencies, including natural disasters, violent incidents and terrorist acts. The time to plan is now - preparedness is essential.

National, state and local experts will present critical information for developing emergency crisis plans, working with local safety and emergency personnel, making school facilities secure, developing prevention policies and clarifying legal issues.

 

Please mark your calendar for November 8, 2004 and consider attending with a district team of individuals who would be key to emergency preparedness such as building principals, transportation directors, facilities managers, school nurses, school board members, and others. Registration materials will be mailed in the near future.
