Timelines

  1. The sending school shall send or electronically transfer pertinent records not later than 5 school days after the student has enrolled in the receiving school or educational program
  2. Individual materials such as curricula and assignments must be made available to the interim placement as soon as possible, but no later than 5 school days after the interim placement of the student
  3. A professional staff member must be assigned to ensure the complete transfer of all records, grades and credits and all academic material, from the sending school to the receiving school no later than 5 school days after the student enrolls in the receiving school
  4. An “Academic Programming Waiver” if applicable, from a sending school to a receiving school must be sent no later than 5 school days after the student enrolls in the receiving school
  5. School Work Recognition Plan is to be developed  or updated by the student, guardian/parent, the sending and receiving schools no later than 10 days after the interim placement of the student
  6. Educational materials must be made available to the interim placement as soon as possible but no later than 5 school days after the placement.
  7. Request for Reconsideration of a Maine Department of Education Diploma must be made within 30 days of denial of a Maine Department of Education Diploma by the Statewide Review Team
  8. Once it is determined that the student will be pursuing a Maine Department of Education Diploma a Sponsor shall be appointed to support and assist the student throughout the application and Statewide Review process.
