Join us for a full day workshop! "Climate Ready Coast" is a 2-year project to create Maine's first regional coastal resilience plan for the states ten southernmost communities, from Kittery to Scarborough.

When we think about developing climate resilient stormwater infrastructure, the two major goals are: creating stormwater infrastructure that can withstand the impacts of climate change and creating systems that minimize the risk of flooding and erosion due to changing weather patterns that are the result of climate change. These are important because they protect public safety and property, maintain community infrastructure, reduce economic impacts of storm events and help adapt to changing climate conditions.

Incorporating green infrastructure elements and adding stormwater capacity are critical to achieving these goals and therefore expanding the use of green infrastructure practices and finding opportunities to implement them in our communities are priorities when it comes to creating a climate resilient community.

This workshop will include a field component to observe green infrastructure (nature based solutions in southern Maine). The full agenda will be available during May.
