2014 Low Sulfur Fuel Oil Study
Comment deadline: December 31, 2014
In anticipation of reductions in fuel sulfur limits, required by 38 MRSA § 603-A, to .5% for residual in 2018 and.005% in 2016 and .0015% in 2018 for distillates, the Department carried out an extensive review of literature and investigation into the availability of these fuels. This report details the Department?s findings. Based upon present energy market trends and conditions the Department find that the industry should be able to supply Maine?s need for low sulfur products.
