Proposed Mercury-containing Lamp Recycling Program by Batteries Plus Bulbs

Maine DEP is required by Maine law (38 MRS section 1672.4.B) to solicit comments on each manufacturer-proposed mercury-added lamp recycling program. Batteries Plus Bulbs, a manufacturer of mercury-containing fluorescent and metal halide light bulbs, has submitted a plan to establish a free lamp recycling program for its customers. Anyone wishing to provide comments on the proposed plan may send them to Carole Cifrino electronically at carole.a.cifrino@maine.gov or in writing to Maine DEP Bureau of Remediation & Waste Management, 17 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333-0017 by 5:00 pm Thursday, July 8, 2014.
