Vernal Pool Walk - Skowhegan

Date: May 3, 2014
Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: Somerset Woods Trustees land
Russell Road
Skowhegan, Maine

Please join the Upper Kennebec Valley Chapter of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine for a walk in the woods to explore one of the great rites of springs, vernal pools. We will meet with a biologist to explore the pools in the forest of the Somerset Woods Trustees land in Skowhegan on Saturday May 3, from 10 a.m. on. The Somerset Woods Trustees is likely the oldest land trust in Maine, established in 1927 and is proud to continue its program of preserving, protecting and enhancing the main routes coming into Skowhegan and surrounding areas in the county and providing access to these lands for public use. We will meet in site, ¾ mile from the fairgrounds on the Russell Road in Skowhegan. High rubber boots and perhaps a dipping net for those who wish to be active are recommended. No need to pre-register, and it is free and open to all. Any questions contact Patty Cormier at 592-2238 or patty.cormier@maine.gov.
